By: Genevieve M. Barsales

Experts from different areas of the welding industry gathered on June 16, 2021, in a forum to answer frequently asked questions about welding works, welding jobs, and procedures. It was attended by more than 180 participants represented by students, OFWs, private sector employees, and business owners. The participants were able to freely ask any questions through the chatbox and google form provided. The experts explained the most common problems encountered in welding. The participants’ queries regarding what training they need and where they can get it, and how to solve certain welding problems they encountered in school or in the workplace were answered. The forum served as an effective venue for discussion with welding experts especially in this time when all are adjusting to the new way of learning and working.

Speakers of the forum are Mr. Edralin C. Icabales from Philippine Welding Society, Mr. Eric J. Montes of Maynilad, Mr. Roberto M. Dela Cruz of Chiyoda Philippines Corporation, Engr. Reynaldo L.
