DOST to Expand Metals, Engineering Innovation Centers in Regions 

MANILA -- The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) will establish and expand Metals and Engineering Innovation Centers (MEICs) in the regions.

"There are MEICs in some regions, but these were put up by SUCs (state colleges and universities) and not by the DOST. The DOST will fund to expand some of them," Agustin Fudolig, MEIC project leader, told the Philippine News Agency in an interview Thursday. Read More

We are postponing the implementation of the survey of the metalworking industry, focused on advanced welding companies, from July 2020 to January 2021.

The prolonged Covid-19 pandemic crisis has caused serious challenges to the entire nation, including the safety, health, and profitability of the local metals, engineering industries.
