The DOST-MIRDC earns another recognition!
The Hybrid Electric Train (HET) received the First Prize under the Industrial Design Category in the 2020 National Invention Contest and Exhibits (NICE) held on March 6, 2020.
Aside from the major award, the HET also received a special award from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) – the WIPO IP Enterprise Trophy.
The HET project team is composed of Engr. Jonathan Q. Puerto, the Center’s Deputy Executive Director for Technical Services and Program Manager for the Advanced Mass Transportation Program, Engr. Rodnel O. Tamayo, Chief of the Analysis and Testing Division, and Engr. Pablo Q. Acuin, the Project Leader of the HET.
The NICE is a biennial activity that features Filipino-made innovations. The participants for the contest are regional winners of Regional Invention Contest and Exhibits (RICE). NICE 2020 was held at SMX Convention Center, SM Aura Bonifacio Global City, Taguig with the theme "Science for the People: Inventions and Innovations for Sustainable Development.
