Taguig City – MIRDC shone on the 7th series of Forum on DOST RDI's [Research and Development Institute] Developed Technologies organized by DOST Provincial Science and Technology Center (PSTC)-Rizal, October 16, 2020.
Provincial Science and Technology Director Fernando E. Ablaza, who was overwhelmed by the number of attendees in the forum, expressed his support to the DOST-MIRDC as he welcomed the agency’s technologies to the province of Rizal.

The online forum turned out to be a productive and promising interaction as fabricators expressed interest in the technologies, researchers became interested in reading the Center’s technical papers, and entrepreneurs inquired about the home-grown equipment.
Here are some of the questions and responses during the forum:
Question: Gusto ko po maging fabricator, paano po makakuha ng plano or sketch drawing?
MIRDC: We already tested ‘yong mga technologies. We have already promoted it. We already filed the protection for it. We can license it sa mga interested fabricators. Pwede nating ibigay sa kanila ‘yong mga drawings. We can provide them with the training requirements para matuto rin sila kung paano talaga ginagawa.
Question: Is it [Hybrid Electric Train] adaptable to the on-going EDSA carousel?
MIRDC: Mas appropriate technology do’n ‘yong aming Hybrid Electric Road Train. I think its possible kasi ‘yong EDSA is wide naman ‘yong road. Pwede s’ya do’ng gamitin.
The forum drew nearly 120 attendees not only from the group of fabricators and entrepreneurs but also from the academe and local government units.
MIRDC continues to encourage local fabricators to adopt Filipino-made technologies. The online forum was a great opportunity to bring the Center’s technologies closer to the host province. As Technology Diffusion Division Chief Lina B. Afable concluded, “Hindi natatapos sa research and development (R&D) ang kwento tungkol sa pag-unlad ng isang bansa, kailangan ang mga teknolohiyang bunga ng R&D ay gamitin, much more pakinabangan.”
